Kate Middleton is reportedly playing peacemaker between Prince William and Prince Harry again. The Duke of Sussex is expected to travel to the U.K. this month with his family. Reports suggest he wants his kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to spend time with King Charles. Now, as per a source, Middleton is trying to convince her husband to meet his brother when he reaches Britain.
Kate Middleton continues to encourage a family meeting
According to Us Weekly, Kate Middleton has been “trying to convince” Prince William to visit Prince Harry when he travels to the U.K. The source claimed there is “no expectation” that the Prince of Wales will attend the visit, but that might change. “At this time, William is not planning to be there, but things could change,” the insider said. The individual continued, “Kate has been trying to convince William to meet with Harry, Meghan and the kids.”
The insider added, “She is interested in seeing the kids, as well. These opportunities to see Archie and Lilibet haven’t happened before, so when they found out they were coming, it was a shock.” The source also explained, “They are trying to make this work because the opportunities are so limited.” The Princess of Wales “is hoping that William will show up, but she will respect his decision.” Additionally, the source stated that William would only meet his younger brother “when he’s ready.”
The source claimed, “This is not on William’s timeline, it’s on Harry’s.” They continued, “They also weren’t expecting Harry to come to the U.K. with Meghan and the kids, so he’s been hesitant.” However, if Harry “is not ready yet, a reunion won’t happen.” The insider also told the outlet that King Charles is hoping to schedule a meeting with the Sussexes.
“The king is realistic about the challenges of rebuilding the relationship and knows it is going to take time,” the source said. “[Queen] Camilla has been very supportive of the efforts to improve the relationship. There is definitely excitement, and Charles is also optimistic about this.” The monarch is hoping “it’s the first step toward repairing the relationship between Harry and William, as well.”
