Enola Holmes 3 Reviews Are All Saying the Same Thing About Netflix Sequel

Millie Bobby Brown’s detective returns with a new director and a darker case. The first wave of Enola Holmes 3 reviews has landed, and critics seem to have reached a consensus.

First Enola Holmes 3 reviews are in and here’s what they say

Philip Barantini steps into the director’s chair for Enola Holmes 3, taking the reins from Harry Bradbeer. Jack Thorne handles the script once again, drawing from Nancy Springer’s beloved book series. The cast remains stacked: Brown leads, with Henry Cavill back as Sherlock, Louis Partridge returning as Tewkesbury, and Helena Bonham Carter as the ever-unpredictable Eudoria Holmes. Himesh Patel joins the fold as Dr. Watson.

Critics have largely landed on the same page in their reviews that Enola Holmes continues to carry the same charm even in the third movie. They added that Barantini’s grittier instincts inject fresh energy into a formula that could have easily gone stale by now.

Fandom Wire praised the Netflix movie, stating, “The comedy works, the action delivers, and the mystery provides plenty of twists and turns. For the third film in the Enola Holmes franchise, Barantini keeps things exciting enough to keep us engaged.”

Fangirlish echoed that this film succeeds precisely because it doesn’t overreach. “Enola Holmes 3 is a pretty good third movie in the series… That doesn’t feel like high praise, but in a landscape where so many sequels fail because they fail to recognize what they are, Enola Holmes 3 holds steadfast.”

Loud and Clear reflected on the series’ ability to step out of Sherlock’s shadow. “I’ve always found it fitting how the Enola Holmes films mirror their titular character. As it is a spinoff to its much more famous brother series, it can’t help but draw comparisons or scrutiny in how it carries the Holmes title, just like Enola herself in the movies. Yet despite all odds, both the character and the series have been successful so far, as they’ve now made it to the third film.”

On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie has managed to get a solid 80% Tomatometer score from 10 reviews. It releases on July 1 on Netflix.
