Prime Video has released the first trailer for The Devil’s Mouth, a new shark thriller featuring Kathryn Newton.
The film’s synopsis reads, “Five friends explore The Devil’s Mouth cave system in Thailand for one last adventure before life in the real world begins. But they soon discover that something is hunting them under the water… fast, silent, and deadly. In the suffocating darkness, trust erodes, panic spreads and every wrong turn becomes a fight for survival.”

What do we see in The Devil’s Mouth trailer?
The trailer opens with the main group partying on a boat before heading for “the Devil’s Mouth,” a system of caves in Thailand. When their guide asks whether anyone is afraid of the water, Newton’s character replies, “I’m not afraid of the water, just what might be in it,” ominously teasing their new challenge.
As the group descends into the cave, they discover that all the sea life is dead. Things take a turn for the worse when they realize they are being hunted by a shark. The rest of the trailer shows the group being attacked one by one as they desperately try to survive.
The Devil’s Mouth stars Kathryn Newton, Lana Condor, Nico Hiraga, Gavin Casalegno, Tommi Rose, and Tayme Thapthimthong. The film is directed by Jeff Wadlow from a screenplay by Aja Gabel and Myung Joh Wesner. It is produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Jeff Wadlow.
Wadlow previously directed 2024’s Imaginary, The Curse of Bridge Hollow, and a few episodes of the Are You Afraid of the Dark? TV series. The filmmaker also helmed the sequel to Kick-Ass.
Newton is no stranger to the horror genre, having starred in this year’s Ready or Not 2 and 2024’s hit Abigail. She also played Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and will reprise the role in this year’s Avengers: Doomsday.
The Devil’s Mouth releases on Prime Video on July 29, 2026.
