Why The Bear Season 5 Has Fans Feeling Emotional About Rob Reiner

The fifth and final season of The Bear has left fans of Rob Reiner emotional. The late actor appeared in the previous season of the popular FX drama.

Why does The Bear Season 5 have people feeling emotional about Rob Reiner?

The Bear Season 5 is out now, and within hours of the final season’s premiere, fans have begun sharing emotional posts on social media about one special cast member, Rob Reiner.

The Oscar-nominated filmmaker and acclaimed veteran actor, who passed away last December, appeared in three episodes of The Bear Season 4. He was introduced as Albert Schnurr, Ebraheim’s mentor, in a cameo role.

Although Season 5 was expected to bring Reiner back as Schnurr, his death prevented that from happening. He passed away before filming any scenes for the final season. The current circumstances have led to many fans feeling dejected and emotional while watching The Bear Season 5.

Some fans took to X to express their sadness over Reiner’s character’s absence in Season 5 after showing up in Season 4.

Another fan mentioned that the tribute “As you wish”, given by one of the characters to Rob Reiner, in The Bear Season 5 was “perfect”. The line is a reference to a 1987 movie, The Princess Bride, directed by Reiner himself. In the film, Westley repeatedly says, “As you wish,” in response to Princess Buttercup’s requests.

One fan wrote, “Prepping for season 5 with a rewatch of The Bear and nw the Rob Reiner guest appearance…” while sharing a broken heart emoji. After watching the final season, another emotional fan mentioned, “It’s clear that Rob Reiner was supposed to be in this season.”

All eight episodes of The Bear Season 5 are now streaming on Hulu. Fans of Reiner can revisit the series on the service, especially Season 4, to relive his character’s best moments.
