Princess Diana’s Family Home May Be Part of Prince Harry’s UK Trip — Report

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming UK trip will reportedly include a stop at Princess Diana’s family home. However, neither representative for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has confirmed the itinerary. The potential visit comes amid ongoing speculation about the couple’s relationship with the royal family and their ties to the UK.

Prince Harry might stay at Princess Diana’s home with Meghan Markle

Prince Harry is reportedly considering a stay at Princess Diana’s family home, Althorp Estate, as the couple plans to bring their family to the UK for the first time in four years. Their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, are expected to join the royal couple on the UK trip this July. The trip ties in with the Duke’s long-planned appearance at events marking the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, which run from July 10 to 17.

As reported by PEOPLE, the dates have shifted attention to Althorp House, Diana’s Northamptonshire estate, about an hour from Birmingham. The estate’s website shows that it will shut its doors to visitors on July 10 and 11 next month. The timing has sparked talk that Harry and his family may tour the property or even stay there during their UK visit.

Althorp Estate is also Princess Diana’s final resting place. With the family’s trip landing just days after what would have been the late Princess of Wales’s July 1 birthday, the visit would carry deep meaning for Harry, Markle, and their children. For those unaware, Lilibet’s middle name is Diana, a tribute to her late grandmother.

The 41-year-old Prince has stayed at Althorp before, the Northamptonshire estate owned by his uncle, Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer. He was last there in August 2024 for Lord Robert Fellowes’ funeral.

Meanwhile, King Charles has extended an invitation for Harry, Markle, and their kids to stay on royal grounds. However, the stay wouldn’t come with additional security cover. The Sussexes haven’t responded to it so far.
