Kelce sat down for a fun chat with Bussin’ With The Boys podcast co-hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan at the annual offseason training summit for Tight End University at Vanderbilt University’s FirstBank Stadium.
Unsurprisingly, they broached the topic of retirement and “whether he was going to hang it up” (via PEOPLE). Lewan asked Kelce directly: “What was the main deciding factor for you to come back for another year?” To which, the 36-year-old athlete candidly replied: “Oh, I don’t want to cuss in front of everybody, but I love this s**t.”
It is interesting because Kelce has spent his entire NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs. There was speculation that Kelce might retire after the Chiefs missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014. The Chiefs finished with a disappointing 6–11 record. Since then, the media has reported that Kelce could retire. However, he has continued to express his desire to return to the game.
