Tom Cruise‘s upcoming movie Digger has unveiled new footage and confirmed the release date for its trailer. Directed by Academy Award-winning Alejandro G. Iñárritu, the mysterious film has also unveiled several promotional posters featuring Cruise.
When is the next trailer for Tom Cruise’s Digger going to be released?
Tom Cruise took to X to reveal two brand-new posters for Digger and confirm the trailer release date. His post read, “Bang, bang, bang! Trailer drops July 13th.”
The film’s official social media account also shared a different poster featuring Cruise as Digger Rockwell, whose role remains largely under wraps.
Interestingly, Cruise also shared a montage featuring iconic moments from many of his previous films. At the end of this clip, a brief footage of Digger was also attached to generate the hype ahead of the full trailer reveal on July 13, 2026.
Cruise wrote, “For the last 46 years, it has been my privilege to work alongside countless talented artists and crews to create these characters, stories, and films for you all. I’m looking forward to seeing you at the movies! DIGGER. Only in theaters this October.”
It’s been more than a year since Cruise last appeared in a film. His last appearance was in 2025’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, in which he portrayed the beloved character of IMF agent Ethan Hunt.
As for Digger, major details are under wraps for this “comedy of catastrophic proportions”. Earlier this year, one of the stars from the movie, Jesse Plemons, teased what fans can expect from the story. “It’s one of the strangest, funniest, most tragic scripts I’ve read,” said Plemons. “There’s a kind of modern-day Dr. Strangelove thing, and then it becomes something else entirely.”
Made on a budget of $125 million, the movie also features Sandra Hüller, Riz Ahmed, and Sophie Wilde. The movie will be out in theaters on October 2, 2026.
