The couple who left their royal duties in 2020 have seemingly secured a hybrid arrangement with King Charles, where they received royal status, royal protection, royal access, and family support, while also maintaining a private life in California, something they always wanted. Queen Elizabeth had famously rejected this proposition earlier.
Sources suggest Prince Harry and Meghan Markle scored a royal deal
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have gotten the deal they have wanted for years. Before Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties, thereby losing their royal privileges, they sought a hybrid role that would allow them to be both royal and private. But the late Queen rejected this idea, citing that monarchy was not a part-time job.
However, King Charles may have granted them the royal privileges without the burden of a monarch, as per sources. “This is essentially the arrangement Harry and Meghan proposed years ago,” a source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice. “The difference is that Queen Elizabeth said no.”
King Charles has already helped smooth the way for Harry and Meghan’s visits to Britain, ensuring that they remain within the royal premises and get the security benefits befitting a prince.
“They’re not working royals,” an insider noted, “But they’re receiving many of the benefits that come with being working royals.”
King Charles is reportedly driving the efforts for reconciliation. “Charles is a father before he is a king when it comes to Harry,” one source said, “He wants peace, he wants unity, and he wants a relationship with his grandchildren.”
So, it seems that after years of being estranged, Prince Harry’s family is slowly getting back into the royal fold.
