King Charles’ Nickname for Meghan Markle Revealed His True Opinion — Insider

King Charles III reportedly gave Meghan Markle a private nickname when she was a working royal. The nickname reflected how much he admired her strength and determination. According to recent claims, Charles was impressed by Markle’s qualities early in her time with the royal family, long before relations between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family became strained.

Sources claim the nickname reflected King Charles’ admiration for Meghan Markle

Insiders have claimed that King Charles III privately called Meghan Markle “tungsten” when she and Prince Harry were working members of the royal family. The nickname reportedly came from tungsten, a metal known for being extremely strong and durable.

RadarOnline claimed that the monarch saw the Duchess of Sussex as someone who stayed calm under pressure and did not let challenges affect her easily. “It reflects the steeliness Charles thought Meghan had at her core. He thought she was tough as nails inside, despite her later talk of feeling traumatized by her time with the royals,” an insider claimed.

Other sources said that Charles gave Markle the nickname as a sign of both admiration and respect for her strong personality. One insider said, “Charles saw in her someone who doesn’t bend easily under scrutiny, and that left a real impression on him early on.”

After marrying Harry in 2018, Markle quickly became one of the most talked-about members of the royal family. During her early public appearances with Prince William and Kate Middleton, she reportedly impressed royal aides and senior family members with her confidence and public presence.

Royal correspondent Katie Nicholls wrote in her 2022 book “The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown” that Markle’s arrival created a noticeable impact within royal circles. According to Nicholls, one aide described the duchess as “polished, passionate, and funny, using all her TV-honed skills to present her case.”
