Henry Cavill Has One Word for His Royal Ascot Debut

Henry Cavill made his Royal Ascot debut last week and had one word to describe the new experience. The British actor is no stranger to wearing tailored vintage Victorian menswear, which he does as Sherlock Holmes in Netflix’s Enola Holmes movies. He channeled a similar charming persona at the horse-riding event in Berkshire.

Henry Cavill shares his feelings after attending Royal Ascot

The Royal Ascot 2026, held at the historic Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire, England, ran from June 16 to June 20. The event welcomed many well-known faces in addition to the British royal family. Among the stars was Henry Cavill. Speaking about his experience there (via Mirror.co.uk), he said, “It has been absolutely amazing. This is my first time coming to Royal Ascot, and what a day to come.”

When asked about being on the parade ring with the Royal Family, he replied: “It was amazing. I saw them from a distance; I wasn’t with them. I was in the ring with them, but not with them. It was an amazing experience.”

The 43-year-old also shared one big highlight of his day, saying, “I did get to ring the bell today, though, which I think I may have rung too hard.” For those unversed, the ringing of the bell signals the jockeys to mount their horses and head to the track for the race.

The Man of Steel star also took to his official Instagram page to share a photo of himself. In the caption, he wrote, “Starched collars, top hats, and tails, just a regular day out at Royal Ascot with my friends at Longines. Honestly, this was such a magnificent experience.”

Henry Cavill stunned on the second day of the Royal Ascot in a dapper suit. His outfit featured a tailored black jacket layered over a beige waistcoat and a crisp white shirt. He paired it with grey pinstripe trousers, a navy tie, and a black top hat. For his timepiece, he dove deep into Swiss watchmaker Longines’s archives and pulled the 1926 Longines Monopusher Chronograph.
