King Charles Had an Unexpected Hollywood Guest at Royal Ascot

King Charles III welcomed an unexpected Hollywood pairing to Royal Ascot this week. Stanley Tucci and his wife, Felicity Blunt, stole the spotlight, arriving at the prestigious event in a horse-drawn carriage. Notably, Royal Ascot is known for its strict style rules and royal presence, so a surprise celebrity appearance always draws attention.

The reigning royal pair of the United Kingdom welcomed an unexpected Hollywood star and his spouse to Royal Ascot.

On June 20, King Charles and Queen Camilla attended the summer race meeting at Ascot Racecourse. They opened the day’s procession, arriving in the lead carriage with classic royal flair. Behind Their Majesties came the rest of the royal cavalcade, including Princess Anne, Prince Edward, the Duchess of Edinburgh, and Zara Tindall.

However, the biggest surprise was The Devil Wears Prada star, Stanley Tucci. Per PEOPLE, the 64-year-old rode in the fourth carriage alongside his wife, Felicity Blunt. They shared the ride with royal friends Lord and Lady Cavendish as the horses trotted through Ascot.

Tucci and Blunt riding in the carriage highlights the Golden Globe awardee’s growing ties to the British royal family, especially to King Charles. In 2025, he put together a dinner at Highgrove, the British monarch’s Gloucestershire home, centered on sustainable food. David and Victoria Beckham, Helen Mirren, Donatella Versace, and the Italian Ambassador to the U.K., Inigo Lambertini, were also among the guests (via PEOPLE).

That theme aligns closely with King Charles’ decades-long focus on farming and environmental issues. “We came up with the menu with Francesco Mazzei, the chef who actually did my wedding 13 years ago,” the Conclave actor shared with T&C last year. “He’s a wonderful Italian chef in England. It was with him and the Italian ambassador. They said, let’s figure out a menu. I suggested Italian dishes, but using all British produce.”

King Charles and Stanley Tucci crossed paths once more in January at Windsor Castle. It was for the premiere of the British head of state’s film, Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision. Additionally, the royal couple met Tucci and Blunt again in March at a Queen’s Reading Room reception held at Clarence House.
