Prince Harry is set to return to the UK next month with his wife, Meghan Markle, and his kids. But an expert believes the Duchess of Sussex’s return comes with a major risk. She might face challenges not only from royal family members but also from the public for “her role in taking Harry away and disrespecting the royals.”
A royal commentator believes Meghan Markle could face challenges if she returns to UK
Prince Harry is returning to the UK next month with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their kids. However, royal author Phil Dampier believes the Duchess’s return to the UK carries a major risk. As per his article in The Sun, he says that a source close to Meghan said that she “believes most people in the UK are fair and reasonable. They are, but many will still not forgive her for her role in taking Harry away and disrespecting the royals.”
Hence, Dampier thinks the Duke and Duchess “are taking a big risk because it’s quite possible some people might boo them.” However, the expert is certain that King Charles “wants to have a better relationship with his prodigal son and to see his grandchildren,” Archie and Lilibet. And if they have a “good reception,” the Sussexes might return to the UK “more often.”
However, to make this happen, “Harry really needs to be a lot more humble, but he’s not good at admitting his mistakes and always blames others, as does Meghan,” says the royal author.
Harry and Markle will travel from Montecito, California, for the Duke’s one-year countdown party for the Invictus Games. But TV host Mark Dolan cast doubt on their motivations, saying it’s a clear message that they “want to be back in the Royal fold.” Explaining the reason, he told Bronte Coy on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive that the Sussexes’ “business enterprises are struggling” and they therefore want to “recalibrate with Royal credentials.”
“They need the optics, they need the titles, they need the status, they need the elevated position it gives them because at the moment, we’ve seen that Meghan’s popularity is dropping in the United States,” Dolan said.
