Swift became the youngest woman ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 11. Kelce made the trip from Kansas City to New York to celebrate one of the biggest milestones of his fiancée’s career. In a video shared on X, he warmly hugged Sombr after his performance honoring the pop icon.
The clip does not reveal what Kelce and Sombr said to each other backstage. However, they greeted each other with big smiles and exchanged several hugs and handshakes. Fans quickly circulated the clip online, praising the Chiefs tight end. A popular X account dedicated to Swift-Kelce wrote, “Travis loves and appreciates everyone who supports Taylor, and it’s literally my favorite thing in the world.”
During her acceptance speech, the 36-year-old said, “Songwriting is the easiest thing I’ve ever done. Not because it didn’t take effort; it definitely did.” She explained that songwriting has always come naturally to her. “I went through difficult lessons and massive amounts of trial and error and chaos and calamity.” Swift added, “But songwriting for me was pretty much the only thing I ever just naturally did.”
The celebration featured performances from several musicians, including Sombr and rock legend John Fogerty. Kelce and Swift appeared fully immersed in the festivities, singing along, dancing, and enjoying the performances throughout the evening.
