A major spoiler of Brad Pitt’s upcoming dog movie has surfaced online, but no one seems to be complaining about it. In fact, Richard Raymond, who serves as one of the producers on Heart of the Beast, himself shared the major plot point on his social media profile, confirming that the movie would differ vastly from John Wick in one particular aspect.
Heart of the Beast producer confirms Brad Pitt’s dog movie isn’t like John Wick
On June 11, Richard Raymond took to his social media to repost the recently launched trailer of the film. In the update, he also reassured fans concerned about the fate of the dog that the beast will survive the events of Brad Pitt’s forthcoming movie.
“And look — everybody loves a dog. It’s about the only thing the whole world agrees on. So let me put your mind at ease right now: the dog does not die. You’re welcome,” the upcoming film’s producer revealed on X (formerly Twitter).
Interestingly, the dog trainer for Heart of the Beast is the same one who worked on John Wick. However, fans can rest assured that the canine in Pitt’s latest feature has a better fate.
Describing it as “the definitive German Shepherd film,” Raymond also disclosed that he had spent five years chasing this movie. “A script by Cameron Alexander that I fell in love with the moment I read it — a film that had passed through a lot of hands over the years, none of which quite knew what they were holding or how to treat it. I did. So I kept knocking, and I waited, until it was finally mine to look after,” he noted.
Directed by David Ayer, Heart of the Beast revolves around an ex-Navy SEAL (Brad Pitt). After a perilous incident in the Alaskan wild, he embarks on a journey back to his home with his dog.
In his X post, Richard Raymond also shared his excitement about the project. He wrote, “Back in the 90s at Pinewood, I was a runner making Brad his tea and coffee on Interview with the Vampire. To now be one of the producers on what may be one of his very best films…I don’t have a word for it other than: pinch me.”
Meanwhile, Heart of the Beast is currently on track to premiere on September 25, 2026.
