What Hunter Biden Said About a 2028 Vice Presidential Run

Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, has cleared the air on his much-discussed 2028 presidential run after Donald Trump tried to make fun of his supposed return to politics. The disbarred former attorney addressed rumors about his running for office aspirations while speaking with California Governor Gavin Newsom, stating that he would prefer vying for the VP position for a simple reason.

During his recent appearance on the former San Francisco mayor’s podcast, the artist jokingly noted that he is only interested in running for office in 2028 if it is for the VP position under Newsom.

After introducing Hunter Biden as a “presidential candidate” on the This is Gavin Newsom podcast, the eponymous host noted, “You’ve got the President of the United States, Donald Trump, talking about your candidacy for President of the United States,” as per TMZ.

In response, Hunter Biden remarked that his 2028 presidential run can happen, albeit with a catch. “Here’s the deal. I’ll run, but only as your VP because the truth of the matter is that the Vice President’s residence is a lot cooler. It’s a lot easier job, too,” he quipped.

Biden’s comments come after Donald Trump shared his thoughts on whether the Beautiful Things author could etch a successful presidential run in 2028. “You would think that the past has something to do with winning an election, and I would say his past is not the greatest,” the sitting President stated (via Fox News).

Trump then threw shade at Graham Platner, a candidate for the US Senate in Maine, by stating, “Hey, if the guy from Maine can do well, I guess Hunter could do well, too, because the guy from Maine is a basket case.”

Consequently, Joe Biden’s son didn’t hold back after hearing Donald Trump’s joke and retaliated by bringing the Republican Party leader’s numerous controversies into the fold. “Wait…Did he just say checkered past? I’m 28 felonies, 6 bankruptcies, and an Epstein bromance short of his checkered past,” he countered on his X (formerly Twitter) profile.

Meanwhile, Trump has yet to comment on Hunter Biden’s recent remarks to Gavin Newsom.
