For months, fans have been trying to guess when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might say “I do.” Now, according to reports, betting markets are putting a price on those predictions. Millions of dollars have allegedly been wagered on various wedding outcomes, from where the ceremony could take place to which A-listers might be in attendance. The trend has turned an already massive celebrity story into one of the hottest topics in the world of online forecasting.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding has reportedly made it to prediction markets
CBS News senior business and technology correspondent Jo Ling Kent said Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding has become one of the most popular celebrity topics on betting platforms. “Everyone’s talking about this wedding, and what’s going to happen. Where is it gonna be? What will she wear? Who else is attending?” Kent said while discussing the phenomenon.
Those questions have reportedly translated into real money. Kent claimed that “bettors have wagered millions of dollars on platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi.” According to her, more than $3 million has flown into wedding markets as public interest continues to grow.
Much of the attention has centered on where the couple could potentially tie the knot. Recent reports from multiple outlets have claimed that Madison Square Garden in New York City could host the wedding on July 3. Those rumors have helped make New York the leading favorite among bettors.
Nonetheless, the venue speculation remains far from settled. A source recently pushed back on the Madison Square Garden reports while speaking to Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice newsletter. “A wedding at Madison Square Garden feels like a production,” the source said. “Not a wedding.” Another insider went a step further, claiming the reports may be intentionally misleading. “Most people I know think it’s a decoy,” the source alleged.
Beyond the venue, prediction markets are also taking wagers on potential bridesmaids and celebrity attendees. Names such as Gigi Hadid, Kylie Kelce, and Este Haim have all emerged in betting discussions, according to Kent.
As a matter of fact, the wedding betting craze appears to be a sign of a larger shift. “Fans have always tried to predict what happens next,” Kalshi spokesperson Clarissa Bronfman told The New York Times. “Prediction markets are becoming another layer of fandom and expression for the superfan.”
