Ariana Grande slammed the White House for using her 2024 song Bye in an ICE clip. Soon, the song was taken down from the clip, with an official spokesperson from White House calling the singer out over her bold remark. The clip in question showcased a video compilation of ICE agents detaining immigrants.
White House has reportedly removed Ariana Grande’s song from ICE clip
The White House recently took to TikTok to share an ICE clip, which featured the Bye song from Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine album. The caption read, “Bye-bye. President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history.” The post drew the attention of Grande, who quickly commented, but now her remark appears to be hidden.
She wrote, “Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. f**k ice.” It appears her request was acknowledged, and within a few hours, the song was removed from the clip. Now, if someone views the clip, the background sound appears to be not available.
However, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson hit back at Grande’s viral comment while referencing one of her 2014 hit singles. She said, “We’ll say this one last time: What’s actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens” (via Reuters).
The 7 Rings singer has been vocal about her anti-ICE stance, often speaking up about injustice on her social media accounts. For instance, she raised her voice against the shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. Grande said, “As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today. ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.” She had earlier also shared a story about participating in an anti-ICE protest nationwide (via The Blast).
