Sydney Sweeney‘s The Housemaid’s Secret has added an American Horror Story actor to its cast. The sequel to the 2025 hit thriller film, The Housemaid, will be released next year and has already added a slew of talented actors.
Who has joined the cast of The Housemaid’s Secret?
Paul Anthony Kelly has joined the cast of The Housemaid’s Secret. He previously played JFK in Love Story and will be appearing in the new season of American Horror Story. Kelly will portray Douglas Garrick, Millie’s new employer and a central figure in the film’s mystery. The Housemaid’s Secret will be Kelly’s first starring role in a feature film. Douglas is also the husband of Kirsten Dunst’s character.
Kelly announced his casting via a video on social media, in which the actor can be seen reading the second book in the series. The actor recently shared that he nearly quit acting after auditioning for roles for over a decade. His most recent project, Love Story, ended up becoming FX’s most-watched limited series on Disney+.
The sequel’s synopsis reads, “In The Housemaid’s Secret, Millie returns, taking a job keeping house for a woman she’s never allowed to see—only to discover the truth behind the locked door that threatens to expose secrets far darker than her own.”
Michele Morrone will also reprise his role as Enzo, who becomes Millie’s love interest in the second book. The film will enter production later this year. Lionsgate also revealed that the studio is looking to adapt author Freida McFadden’s other novels as well. The franchise is already expanding into the world of live theater.
Paul Feig will return to direct The Housemaid’s Secret. The film is produced by Todd Lieberman for Hidden Pictures; Laura Fischer and Paul Feig for Pretty Dangerous Pictures; and Sydney Sweeney through her Honey Trap banner.
The Housemaid’s Secret will be released in theaters on December 17, 2027.
