Jon Stewart Calls Donald Trump the ‘Iron Man’ of the MAGA-Verse

If the MAGA union were a universe like the ever-expanding MCU, Donald Trump would embody the role of Iron Man, as per Jon Stewart. However, the comedian’s reference did not correlate the two due to their leadership capacities. Instead, he insinuated that just like Marvel is bringing back Robert Downey Jr. to the franchise in a different role, the MAGA followers can also find a way to bring back Trump to the nation’s political setup after the conclusion of his second presidential term.

Jon Stewart compares Donald Trump to Iron Man

On June 9, during an intimate FYC event in New York, The Daily Show veteran and his fellow host Jordan Klepper hypothesized how a MAGA-verse would be when compared to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Klepper started off by referring to the Republican sympathizers’ disdain of him and stated, “I’m not the good guy in that universe, but I’m a part of it.” He also pointed out how “MAGA heads” still approach him for photos. “I’m the heel, and they want to fight with me, they want to yell at me and they want to take selfies with me,” he noted, as per Variety.

Jon Stewart then chimed in on the analogy, stating that just like Marvel is bringing back Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU, despite Iron Man’s demise in Avengers: Endgame, Republicans “can try and throw him [Trump] back in there as Dr. Doom or some other f****g thing.” He continued, “But do you think that audience is going to buy somebody else running that universe?”

Notably, Donald Trump and his supporters have often indicated that he might not leave office even after his second presidential term comes to an end.

The duo then discussed who else could run the show after Trump’s tenure ends. “It is personality-based through and through,” Klepper remarked. He suggested that the MAGA movement can only thrive if Trump is steering it. “It’s either going to be somebody with the Trump name, and it’s a family heirloom that’s passed down, or whoever is the next leader of the Republican party will be inheriting an entirely different machine,” Stewart added.

Notably, Jon Stewart returned to The Daily Show in February 2024, nearly nine years after his 2015 departure.
