During her address on Capitol Hill, Sydney Kamlager-Dove voiced concerns over Donald Trump’s sleeping habits during important meetings. She said, “Mr. Speaker, I rise today to sound the alarm about a grave national security threat: Donald Trump’s sleeping habits.” Referencing an image of the president dozing off, she added, “I know we have rules about decorum, so I will stick to the facts, because this is, in fact, a serious matter of oversight, transparency, and national security.”
She pointed out that Trump has repeatedly been spotted sleeping publicly in broad daylight. This happened even while he was being praised by those around him. “We cannot trust the White House on matters concerning the president’s health because they are denying what Americans are seeing with our own two eyes,” she continued, casting doubts on the White House’s earlier explanation.
She slammed Secretary of State Marco Rubio for “seemingly lying” about Trump not being asleep. This was despite a photo appearing to show the president with his eyes closed. At the time, Rubio revealed that the claims are false.
“I’ve never seen him fall asleep. On the contrary, the guy doesn’t sleep, which is a big problem, because he calls me at 2 in the morning, he calls me at 5 in the morning, and you know, I like to sleep a little bit—maybe not 12 hours—but at least six… I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he elaborated.
