Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s MSG wedding will reportedly be a multi-million-dollar affair
A new detail about Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding has emerged, and it has apparently raised some eyebrows. The couple are reportedly getting married in New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden. It has been the home of the Knicks, Rangers, and numerous concerts, including some of Swift’s shows. But as per TMZ, the couple “are paying retail for their wedding event,” making it a multimillion-dollar affair.
As per their source, the singer and the NFL star have rented the “$1 million per night” place for “at least 3 days,” one day early for setup, on the day of, and one day after. And despite her history with the place, the singer reportedly did not get a special offer or discount. This is because Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp, a publicly traded company, owns the venue and has several stockholders.
Speaking about the budget, Sonal Shah, a luxury wedding planner in Manhattan, gave an estimate to The New York Post . She said, ““I would expect the cost of renting Madison Square Garden for a Saturday-night wedding to be approximately $1 million to $2.5 million before you even begin building the wedding itself.” She further added that with “production, security, catering, entertainment and decor, a Madison Square Garden wedding could very realistically become a $10 million to $20 million-plus event.”
More than 1000 guests are expected to be present at the venue to witness Swift and Kelce’s nuptials, expected to be on July 3. And since there are no windows at MSG, it’s unlikely photographers will be able to capture their moments. Moreover, the venue has underground parking, making it easier for the attendees to access the venue without getting mobbed.
