Sydney Sweeney Breaks Silence on ‘Cast Drama’ Amid Euphoria Feud Rumors

Sydney Sweeney finally breaks her silence on those Euphoria cast feud rumors. The actress addresses the Zendaya speculation and what really happened behind the scenes.

Sydney Sweeney comments on Zendaya relationship rumors amid Euphoria speculation

Sydney Sweeney addressed rumors of a feud with Zendaya in a Vanity Fair interview published on June 9. The actress called the speculation surrounding the Euphoria cast “crazy.” Sweeney spoke openly about the gossip for the first time since the HBO series concluded its final season.

Rumors of tension between Sweeney and Zendaya intensified before Season 3 aired. Zendaya left an L.A. Euphoria premiere after only a brief appearance, fueling reports of a falling out. Sweeney also excluded any photos of Zendaya from a social media post commemorating the show and its cast.

The largely isolated Season 3 storylines added further speculation about off-screen conflict. Zendaya’s Rue attended the wedding of Sweeney’s Cassie but left immediately after the ceremony. The two actors did not appear to share any scenes together throughout the final season.

Sweeney pushed back firmly against the narrative in her interview. “It’s honestly crazy to watch how much social media and the press spin things,” she said. She emphasized the cast’s bond, noting they all grew up together on the show over multiple seasons.

Sweeney also dismissed claims that the cast’s busy film careers delayed production of the final season. “I was in first position to HBO. So the moment they say, ‘Hey, this is the first day of filming,’ I’m legally not allowed to do anything else,” she explained. She confirmed all main cast members held the same contractual obligation.

Despite limited shared screen time, Sweeney revealed the cast remained close on set. “Every single time we were in the trailer, we were like, ‘Wait, what are you doing today?'” she said. The actors only received scripts for their own scenes, so they pieced the story together between takes.
