2 Paramount+ TV Shows Renewed for 2 More Seasons Each

Two Paramount+ TV shows have been renewed for two more seasons each. This comes after the renewals of Nickelodeon’s PAW Patrol and its spinoff, Rubble & Crew, for an additional 26 episodes each last month. It also marks Seasons 14 and 15 for the former and Seasons 5 and 6 for the latter. This also comes as the network pulled the plug on Dora and Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles late last year.

What Paramount+ TV shows have been renewed?

Nickelodeon originals, SpongeBob SquarePants and its spinoff, The Patrick Star Show, are the two Paramount+ TV shows that have been renewed for two more seasons each. As per Deadline, SpongeBob SquarePants has been picked up for Seasons 18 and 19 with 26 half-hour episodes in total, while the latter has been renewed for Seasons 6 and 7 with 26 half-hour episodes in total.

All four seasons are currently in production, with Season 18 of SpongeBob SquarePants and Season 6 of The Patrick Star Show slated to premiere in Q4 2026. Season 19 of SpongeBob SquarePants and Season 7 of The Patrick Star Show are scheduled for 2027.

Commenting on their choice to pick up more seasons of SpongeBob and PAW Patrol while trimming the fat on other programs, Chair George Cheeks said, “Our cable brands will focus on a more curated slate, optimizing programming and marketing resources to amplify what resonates most. That means leaning into franchises like SpongeBob, PAW Patrol, RuPaul’s Drag Race, South Park, Ms. Pat, and The Daily Show, while continuing to develop new IP across our studios and seeking new ways to amplify and connect with audiences.”

The renewals and cancellations align with the programming changes following the Paramount-Skydance merger that has since resulted in the consolidation of top Paramount cable franchises into a TV media division overseen by Chair George Cheeks.

New episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants continue to premiere Fridays at 5 p.m., and will continue to drop into July and August. Fresh episodes of The Patrick Star Show are also a part of the Friday lineup and premiere at 6 p.m.
