Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly not happy with the fact that Frogmore Cottage might be restored to its original style. It has been almost six years since the Sussexes stepped down from their senior working royal roles. They soon moved to Montecito and now live there in a $29 million mansion with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. They are expected to visit the UK soon and meet King Charles. However, an alleged move by the Palace has reportedly upset them.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feel increasingly sidelined, claims source
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly feel sidelined after it was reported that the Firm wants to wipe any “trace of Harry and Meghan” from the royal estate. The Sussexes are expected to visit the UK in July. Meanwhile, the Duke of Sussex is set to meet his father and work on repairing their strained relationship.
While Harry is focused on mending ties, reports suggest the Palace has taken a significant step regarding Frogmore Cottage. A report by Closer Online claims the residence may be restored to its original style, undoing modifications made by Harry and Meghan.
A source said, “It’s been empty for three years. Even Andrew [Mountbatten-Windsor] thought it wasn’t good enough for him to move in. Maybe if they get rid of any trace of Harry and Meghan, then someone within the royal household will fancy it.”
Prince Harry reportedly felt hurt by the move, as he had hoped things were improving with the royal family. According to insiders, the decision regarding the home felt like a “huge slap in the face” for him. While he has been putting effort into reconciliation with his father, this update is said to have affected him deeply.
The source added, “‘He accepts that it doesn’t belong to them, but at the same time he does feel some sense of ownership and attachment to it.” They added that the Queen gave the house to them. Plus, they put all their energy and effort into making the cottage a beautiful home for themselves. Hence, the news is quite upsetting for them.
The source also suggested that Harry believes this move might have been planned by a family member to make sure his relationship remains sour with his royal family.
