Ivanka Trump slammed for her $1.4B island project
Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, was recently criticized online after announcing a $1.4 billion project in Albania.
According to a report by OK Magazine, Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, are partnering with luxury hotel chain Aman Resorts and New York’s Major Food Group on the project. It involves building a luxury resort on the 1,400-hectare former military base. Reportedly, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has allowed the project to go ahead, allegedly to get on the good side of the Trump family.
Ivanka Trump appeared on David Senra’s podcast and stated, “I’m working on an incredible project with my husband in the Mediterranean. It’s massive in scale. We were on a friend’s boat, and we stopped for a swim. Effectively, that’s how we found it. We swam to the island. We went on a hike, barefoot all the way up to the top, and we were just captivated. And it’s stayed with us ever since. For me, this is, it feels more like a challenge than anything else.”
One user on X (formerly Twitter) criticized her and posted, “How profoundly tone deaf of the Trump crying family to even talk about this right now with the way the economy is going.” Another user commented, “Typical. Her family burns the entire world to the ground and they get to escape to tropical paradise. Eat them.”
The Daily Show took shots at Ivanka, with host Michael Kosta labeling the development as “depressing news about the economy.”
