Justin Baldoni & Blake Lively Head Back To Court After Settlement — Report

It seems like Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s case hasn’t settled yet. The duo returned to court one month after announcing they had settled their lawsuit. Notably, Lively’s team is suing Baldoni for legal fees and damages, rekindling their years-long battle. Previously, the It Ends With Us co-stars settled their long-drawn legal battle with zero payout. Notably, the lawsuit was settled two weeks before the case was scheduled to go to trial on May 18.

Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively head back to court a month after settling their lawsuit. Lively’s legal team was back in front of a New York judge on Monday to demand legal fees and damages from Baldoni’s team.

Lively’s legal team argued that the defamation suit brought against her by Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios was a retaliatory move. Such a move is not allowed under California law. However, Baldoni’s team rejected the claim (via The Guardian).

Agence France-Presse was unable to obtain accurate information on how much Lively is demanding from Baldoni’s team. On May 4, multiple media outlets reported that the actors had settled their long-drawn lawsuit with a zero payout.

At the time, their respective attorneys released a joint statement. It read, “The end product — the movie It Ends With Us — is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors — and all survivors — is a goal that we stand behind” (via PEOPLE).

The attorneys further shared that Lively’s concerns deserved to be heard and needed to be addressed. They also added that they hope this brings closure to all the parties involved so they can move forward.

A source revealed to Page Six that the former co-stars were negotiating for a few weeks and were encouraged to reach an agreement. The insider said, “They finally came to an agreement today. It was a last-minute deal.”

However, sources tied to Variety revealed, “Anyone purporting to confirm the terms of the confidential settlement at this point is misleading you. More information about this confidential settlement will be on the court’s docket in the coming days.”
