A scooper shared alleged plot details for Star Wars: Starfighter, including Ryan Gosling’s backstory and more. Directed by Shawn Levy, the upcoming space opera film is set five years after the events of the 2019 film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Star Wars: Starfighter plot details possibly revealed by new rumor
Star Wars insider FivesWalker recently shared alleged plot details for Star Wars: Starfighter on X. The scooper claims Mia Goth will play a force-sensitive, lightsaber-wielding mercenary. She reportedly works for a warlord and arms dealer portrayed by Matt Smith. According to the post, “she is on the hunt for Ryan Gosling’s nephew.”
FivesWalker also addressed circulating rumors about Goth’s character. “There have been various rumors saying she is a Sith cultist. Those are false,” the scooper stated. The post described her more as a mercenary similar to Baylan and Shin from Ahsoka. The character allegedly has “her own agenda and plans” beyond her ties to Smith’s villain.
The scooper also revealed details about Flynn Gray’s character and his family. Amy Adams reportedly plays the boy’s force-sensitive mother. “At the beginning of the film, she is killed, but in her dying moments, gives her son her lightsaber,” FivesWalker claimed. The mother then tells her son to find his uncle, whom he has never met.
The post further described how the nephew locates Gosling’s character. The boy allegedly finds his uncle “in a cantina, a washed-up pilot and war hero haunted by ghosts of his past.” FivesWalker added that the two characters initially clash before bonding “in classic Star Wars fashion.”
Additional details emerged about Gosling’s role specifically. The scooper revealed that the character’s code name during production was “Damon.” The role was originally written for someone in his early 30s before Gosling joined the project. FivesWalker described the character as “a renowned pilot and war hero whose fame has made him a known person.”
Starfighter will hit theaters on May 28, 2027.
