Single Jennifer Lopez Was Asked About Being the Next Bachelorette & Had a Clear Answer

Jennifer Lopez shared whether she would be open to becoming ABC’s next Bachelorette. She recently reflected on her single life while revealing whether it’s tough for her to find love. Lopez had a widely publicized relationship with Ben Affleck from 2002 to 2004. They were engaged but called off their wedding. Later, they rekindled their romance in early 2021 and tied the knot the following year. Two years later, the duo officially separated, with their divorce having been finalized last year.

Jimmy Kimmel asks Jennifer Lopez if she’d be the next Bachelorette

On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the popular host confirmed that Lopez is single, with the singer-actress giving a double stamp of approval, saying, “I am.” Her response was met with an enthusiastic reaction from the audience before she shared a candid comment about her single life. She said, “I should have done it sooner. I’ve been doing it all wrong.”

Kimmel then asked her if she would prefer to go on ABC’s next Bachelorette season, a show where single women come to find true love. The “On the Floor” singer responded with a firm “No.” Stating her reason, she added, “Are you crazy? I’m not doing anything to ruin how I feel right now. It’s fantastic, I love it.” The host then asked her if it’s difficult for her to meet people. “I’ll meet somebody somewhere one day, if they’re good enough,” she answered.

In March 2026, Lopez broke her silence on her split from Affleck, revealing that she took a year off to process everything rather than run away from it. At the time, she also made it a point to spend quality time with her children. The singer said she questioned herself about what was wrong instead of placing blame on anyone else and focused on figuring things out on her own.

“I’m in my happy era. I feel like, for the first time in my life, I’m free. I’m on my own. And It feels really good. I didn’t really know what that felt like since I was in my early 20s and even before that, I’ve always had a boyfriend. There was always someone in my life and so many other things that I felt were out of my control,” she said in a conversation at Good Morning America. She revealed that at this point, she now trusts and appreciates herself more.
