The Princess of Wales once shared an easy bond with Prince Harry. However, a new royal book claimed Kate Middleton‘s view shifted after concerns around Meghan Markle, Harry, and palace staff. The claim reframed the Wales-Sussex split as more than brotherly tension in the new claim. It placed staff loyalty near the center of the reported divide.
Kate Middleton couldn’t move past Meghan and Harry’s ‘attitude to palace staff,’ per author
As per the Hello Magazine report, Russell Myers made the claim. The royal editor wrote it in “William and Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story.” Myers wrote that Catherine first believed “William and Harry’s fundamental differences” came from their “heir and spare” positions. He said that made Prince Harry want more than “being a bit-part player.” At first, she saw the rows as “immaturity or stubbornness.”
However, Myers added that the fights had faults “on both sides.” The author then named the reported deal-breaker as “Harry and Meghan’s attitude towards palace staff.” He wrote that those were people she and William “cared about.” That issue, according to Myers, “set the couples on an entirely different course.” Meanwhile, the “Suits” alum and Harry stepped back from royal duties in 2020. They later moved to Montecito with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The report also recalled how close Middleton and Harry once appeared. In “Spare,” Harry called her “the sister I never had and always wanted.” He also wrote, “I liked seeing Kate laugh. Better yet, I liked making her laugh.” However, Hello Magazine royal editor Emily Nash said, “Things have sadly deteriorated since then.” The so-called Fab Four were last publicly seen together at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022. Elsewhere, Myers called Catherine an “outsider” who watched the brothers’ relationship worsen. He added sources suggested she had “less interest” than William in persuading Harry to stay.
