Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein recently rated each other’s kissing skills while promoting their upcoming Netflix film, Office Romance. The actors opened up about filming romantic scenes during an interview at the premiere of their romantic-comedy film.
Brett Goldstein says Jennifer Lopez’s kiss was 12 on 10
Speaking to ET’s Nischelle Turner at the premiere of Office Romance, Brett Goldstein reacted to Jennifer Lopez previously calling him the best kiss of her career. J.Lo admitted, “I did say that. I was on the spot.”
Goldstein hilariously responded, “I’m going to say this. It was better than winning an Emmy. When I heard she said that, I was like, ‘Okay.’ Okay, now turn. I guess I’ve peaked.” When asked to rate Lopez’s kissing skills, he jokingly gave her a perfect score. “Best. I give it a 12 out of 10.”
Lopez also explained what makes a good onscreen kiss while discussing their chemistry in the film. “It seems natural at the end of the day. I mean, we’re doing it for the movie, so, you know, it kind of has to tell the story. It’s part of telling the story. It’s like any other part of the scene. It has to just feel real.”
Goldstein added that overthinking an onscreen kiss can make filming awkward. “If you start thinking about it, then it’s insane. It’s insane kissing on camera. If you think about it, as soon as you question any of it, it’s a disaster. So, you just have to be in it.”
The actors were also asked whether filming romantic scenes feels awkward with many people watching on set. Lopez simply replied, “No. It’s, I mean, it’s part of the job, you know.”
Office Romance is directed by Ol Parker, while Brett Goldstein and Joe Kelly wrote the screenplay. Goldstein and Lopez also serve as producers on the Netflix rom-com. It is set to release on June 5. The movie stars Goldstein as Daniel and Lopez as Jackie alongside Betty Gilpin, Bradley Whitford, Amy Sedaris, Tony Hale, Rick Hoffman, and Edward James Olmos.
