Taylor Swift failed to bag any awards at this year’s American Music Awards, or AMAs. The MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas hosted the celebrated awards night on Monday, May 25. Interestingly, Swift led the nominations with a whopping 8 nods, but unfortunately did not win any awards.
Taylor Swift loses all awards in AMAs 2026
Taylor Swift faces a major snub at the AMAs 2026, not snagging any wins. The singer released her record-breaking twelfth album, “The Life of a Showgirl”, on October 3 last year. The album was a commercial hit, and Swift bagged many awards for it as well. However, despite leading the nominations, she didn’t win any awards at this year’s AMAs. Instead, seven acts tied for the lead with three awards each.
These acts include Bruno Mars, BTS, Cardi B, KATSEYE, Sabrina Carpenter, HUNTR/X, and Sombr. However, despite a dismal year at this year’s awards, Swift remains the artist with the most AMA wins to her credit, an impressive 40 (via Billboard).
K-pop superstars BTS bagged the “Artist of the Year” award this year. However, Swift still holds the record for the most wins in the category with seven. Based on fan reactions on X (formerly Twitter), Swifties are displeased with the development. Fans have accused the AMAs of being rigged and handing out awards based on attendance. While some fans echoed the sentiment, others disagreed.
One fan pointed out, “I think they give the awards to artists attending the ceremony. In most cases.” A second fan remarked, “Honestly, not bothered. She’s bigger than the AMAs now, and even the Grammys. She got nothing left to prove.” A third fan commented, “And Taylor is the Queen of entertainment. I doubt she’s got anything left to prove. Those award shows are so boring anyway.”
However, one fan retorted, “The hate train loses credibility when it only arrives for BTS achievements. BTS didn’t magically appear on stage and steal trophies. Fans voted. Repeatedly. Consistently. Passionately. Cry harder, but maybe vote harder too.” Another fan wrote, “Yeah, no, this is fishy as hell. With the amount of fans she had, she should’ve at least won something.”
