Ghosts Lead Explains Why Season 6 Getting Delayed Isn’t All Bad

Ghosts Season 6 delay is nothing to worry about, according to a star of the hit sitcom. Asher Grodman has revealed why the long wait could be worth it.

Asher Grodman reveals why Ghosts Season 6 got delayed

Asher Grodman, who plays Trevor Lefkowitz in Ghosts, spoke to ScreenRant and discussed Season 6’s delay in depth. The supernatural comedy show from CBS made its debut back in 2021. It ended abruptly with the Season 5 finale, where Pete’s character (played by Richie Moriarty) just vanished without any explanation.

The network previously confirmed a delay for Ghosts Season 6, while mentioning it will not arrive until midseason. This means fans won’t be able to witness it until early 2027.

Grodman explained how Ghosts Season 6 not arriving this year might be a good thing. It’s because the show will feature a Halloween special and a Christmas special ahead of Season 6’s debut in 2027. Both specials will feature hour-long episodes, thus allowing more flexibility in the story and comedy. He believes the two episodes will serve as good lead-ins to the overall season.

“My understanding is that we’re starting at the same time. It’s just a little bit like we’re letting Ghosts be an hour. It’s going to be kind of a back-to-back Ghosts event. I’m certainly not an expert, but I think those Christmas episodes are so fun, and I think we feel it too. The stories are so complex and so rich that, even as actors, you want to be able to go deeper and explore that more.”

Grodman added, “It’s the same amount of episodes that we’re doing, but being able to live in Woodstone for an hour, I think, will hopefully be fun for the audience.”

The actor’s update also indicates that Season 6 won’t have any drop in the total number of episodes despite the delay. Which means the next season may also have 22 episodes, similar to Season 4 and 5.

Ghosts also features Rose McIver as Samantha, Rebecca Wisocky as Hetty Woodstone, Brandon Scott Jones as Captain Isaac Higgintoot, Sheila Carrasco as Flower, Taylor Ortega as Joan, and Danielle Pinnock as Alberta Haynes, among others.

All episodes of Ghosts Season 1,2,3,4, and 5 are currently available to stream on Paramount+.
