A new report offering some insight into Tom Hardy‘s future in MobLand beyond Season 2 has surfaced. It suggests the actor will not return for Season 3 of the series due to clashes with the show’s producers.
Tom Hardy rumored to be fired from MobLand Season 3
Tom Hardy has been rumored to have been fired from MobLand and will reportedly not be returning for Season 3. However, Paramount has not yet officially addressed the rumor.
Puck News recently shared that the company has decided not to bring back Hardy for the show’s third season. This is alleged to be because he clashed with creatives, particularly producers David C. Glasser and Jez Butterworth.
The outlet reported that issues stemmed from Hardy allegedly being late to set and wanting to alter scripts and dialogue. The report also alleges that Hardy was displeased with the series shifting focus to other actors within the show’s ensemble. Citing a source, they added that the tense situation reached a point that prompted Butterworth to threaten to quit the show.
Notably, a third season of MobLand has not yet been officially confirmed.
The series was renewed for a second season on June 23, 2025, weeks after the first season’s finale premiered. An exact release date for Season 2 hasn’t been set yet. However, renowned filmmaker Guy Ritchie, one of the show’s executive producers, confirmed in an interview with ScreenRant that it will arrive “before the end of the year.” Production on the upcoming season wrapped in March.
Meanwhile, fans can catch up on all episodes of Season 1 on Paramount+. The show’s story follows Harry Da Souza, played by Hardy. He works for the Harrigan crime family, led by Pierce Brosnan’s Conrad and Helen Mirren’s Maeve.
Besides Hardy, Brosnan, and Mirren, the series stars Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Teddie Allen, and Paddy Considine.
