Amazon founder Jeff Bezos recently gave President Donald Trump a backhanded compliment, saying that the President was more mature now than he was during his first term in the White House.
“I think he’s a more mature, more disciplined version of himself than he was in his first term,” the billionaire said when asked about his thoughts on Trump in an exclusive interview with CNBC.
Bezos further added that he’s worked with many presidents and hopes to continue working with more in the future. “We need our business leaders to provide input into the administration regardless of who the president is,” he continued.
Bezos emphasized that he was “on the side of America.” He urged other business leaders to also join his side and added, “Trump has lots of good ideas. He’s been right about a lot of things. You have to give him credit where credit is due.”
Bezos’s take on Trump received backlash online, with many accusing the Amazon founder of lying. In popular consensus, most believe that Trump’s second term has been worse than his first one. Many accused Bezos of lying to stay on Trump’s good books, which is profitable for him and his business.
