A source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice that none of the royal family members reportedly contacted the Sussex couple to mark their milestone moment. “There was no phone call, no private message, no peace offering — absolutely nothing. The silence was very intentional,” they claimed.
Markle seemed to be extremely excited about their anniversary as she shared several photos on Instagram. She uploaded two posts, featuring pictures from their special day. One post was majorly focused on the evening party, while the other featured them in their wedding attire. Interestingly, the snaps didn’t show any royal faces; instead, they were focused on just the couple.
Reportedly, some royal insiders raised eyebrows at how the photos were carefully curated. “That omission did not go unnoticed. The photos focused entirely on Harry and Meghan. It was like the royals had been erased from the story,” one of the royal sources said.
Aside from the photos, the “Suits” alum also shared a video of her husband’s gift. It featured Harry bringing in her favorite lemon elderflower cake and giving her an anniversary present. When she opened it, Markle gasped in excitement. It was a bronze sculpture of two penguins hugging, then a photo of the couple appeared on the side. In it, they were wearing penguin onesies.
