Beloved Hero To Return in Avengers: Secret Wars After 3 Years – Report

A popular Marvel superhero may return in Avengers: Secret Wars, according to a new rumor. This fan-favorite character was last seen in 2024’s blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine.

Blade rumored to appear in Avengers: Secret Wars

According to a scoop from Daniel Richtman, Blade is rumored to return in Avengers: Secret Wars. The vampire hunter previously headlined a live-action trilogy, with Wesley Snipes portraying Blade.

In 2019, it was announced that Mahershala Ali would take on the role moving forward. In fact, a standalone movie was announced featuring the acclaimed actor. But there’s been no progressive update on his project so far.

Going by the latest rumor, it’s still not confirmed which version of Blade will appear in Avengers: Secret Wars. Will it be Wesley Snipes or Mahershala Ali? While Daniel Richtman is a reliable insider, everything should be taken with a grain of salt for now.

As for Blade, recent reports have suggested that the character’s first solo MCU movie may take some more time. But things are moving at a steady pace, according to an update from last year. In November 2025, scooper Alex Perez confirmed that Marvel Studios’ team is still developing the delayed Blade film. Moreover, it’s now expected to arrive in the next saga instead of the Multiverse Saga. “It’s taking a minute because they wanted to push it back into the next saga. It will come to fruition; don’t you worry about that.”

Avengers: Secret Wars is expected to feature an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Other cast members reportedly may include Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Holland, Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Paul Bettany, Simu Liu, Benedict Cumberbatch, and more.

Meanwhile, the Blade movie is yet to receive an official release date window.
