The first trailer for “Lanterns” recently made its way over to social media, and while it may have generated excitement among the ardent DC fans, not everybody is falling head over heels in love with the look of Kyle Chandler‘s Hal Jordan.
In fact, shortly after the footage dropped online, social media users actually began roasting the superhero’s suit, with many calling it underwhelming. They truly believe that the look was a clearly bad choice for a character as loved and iconic as the Green Lantern. A lot of them also commented on other elements of the trailer they didn’t exactly love.

Right after the new “Lanters” trailer dropped, fans rushed to X (formerly Twitter) to express their views on the same. A lot of them also went on to troll the same. Much of this criticism seemed centered on the costume worn by Kyle Chandler, who plays Hal Jordan in the upcoming series. Fans online also joked that the outfit looked more like tactical streetwear than a powerful intergalactic superhero uniform.
Meanwhile, others compared it to a generic sci-fi costume rather than something worthy of the incomparably powerful Green Lantern legacy. Another aspect that seemed to tick off a lot of fans was that the costume was a brownish hue instead of the proper green. One of them even posted, “James Gunn said, ‘What if Green Lantern but HBO detective drama?’” A few others also went on to post memes to support the same argument.
Fans were also upset about the lack of some supernatural elements in the show. One of them posted, “I’m still confused as to what this Reacher-esk detective wannabe show even is…Where are the aliens at?? The superhero part? This ain’t Yellowstone, for crying out loud.” In fact, one of the most liked comments read, “We seriously need to apologize to Green Lantern 2011 movie and Zack Snyder. That shit is axx!”.
