Meghan Markle Mocked for Seemingly Drawing Less Crowd in Geneva

Meghan Markle recently paid a visit to Switzerland to talk about kids’ online safety while unveiling an art installation. But things don’t seem to be turning in her favor as the Duchess of Sussex is being mocked over a seemingly smaller crowd during her speech.

Meghan Markle’s crowd pull in Geneva sparks internet mockery

Meghan Markle visited Switzerland on Sunday to unveil The Lost Screen Memorial art installation at Geneva’s Place des Nations. The installation, which was hosted by the World Health Organization and Archewell Philanthropies, featured 50 illuminated lightboxes, showing lock screen photos of children remembered by their families. The memorial, created along with The Parents’ Network, was first displayed in New York City in April 2025.

“Behind me stands The Lost Screen Memorial,” the Duchess of Sussex stated. “Not statistics. Not avatars. Not data points. Children.” She added, “Each name belonged to a child who was loved beyond measure. A child whose laughter once filled a kitchen. Whose shoes once waited by a front door. Whose future once felt limitless.”

The former star, who wore an all-black pantsuit, even spoke about how addictive and damaging social media can be to kids, urging parents to set an example for their children by limiting their own social media usage. As per Page Six, the exhibition will continue to be on display throughout the 79th World Health Assembly.

However, despite the impactful speech, the Sussex was seemingly mocked over the crowd that turned up to hear her speech. Commenting on Markle’s picture on X (formerly Twitter), a person said, “The massive crowds that turned out for Meghan Markle today in Switzerland. I hope she felt safe poor thing.”

Another user pointed out in the same post, “Looks like people decided to skip it and stay home.” A third one added, “Can you imagine flying all the way to Switzerland and that is the size of the crowd. What a waste of time.”
