Amy Schumer Isn’t ‘Feeling Very Sexual’ Due To a ‘Botched’ Procedure

Amy Schumer is making a cheeky comment on going through a colonoscopy. The comedian-actress has always been vocal about her health challenges. In a recent conversation, the 44-year-old talked about not feeling sexual after the medical procedure.

For the unaware, a colonoscopy is an examination of the rectum and colon through a flexible tube with a camera.

Amy Schumer’s ‘botched colonoscopy’ has left her feeling not ‘very sexual’

Amy Schumer made a candid comment on colonoscopy at an event for the podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat with Amanda Hirsch. “I feel happier than I’ve ever been before,” she said. As such, Hirsch asked her if her happiness is concerned with “being really hot.”

Thus, the Trainwreck star replied, “I actually had kind of a botched colonoscopy, so I’m not feeling very sexual, but see, that’s another thing you’re not going to have to worry about for 15 years, OK ?” Schumer also assured the host, “You’re going to love it, though,” but did not give further details about the procedure.

In 2024, the Golden Globe-nominated actress confirmed that she has been suffering from Cushing syndrome. Schumer shared it with the News Not Noise newsletter. “I feel reborn,” she shared.

The mother of one continued, “There are a few types of Cushing. Some that can be fatal, require brain surgery or removal of adrenal glands.” She added that she was “in MRI machines four hours at a time,” during the “press on camera” for Life & Beth. Schumer felt her “veins shut down from the amount of blood drawn.”

Additionally, she felt she wouldn’t be able to watch her son grow up. She further explained, “Finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable. It has been a crazy couple [of] weeks for me and my family.”

Schumer added, “Aside from fears about my health, I also had to be on camera, having the internet chime in. But thank God for that. Because that’s how I realized something was wrong.”
