Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker Gets Exciting Star Wars Future Report

A new and encouraging rumor about Hayden Christensen‘s future as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader has emerged. The actor originally played the fan-favorite character in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. He then reprised the role in the Disney+ shows Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka.

Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker could be in at least three Star Wars projects

Christensen is reportedly set to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in two more Star Wars projects (via Comic Basics). This comes from a new rumor shared by Daniel Richtman. However, it’s unclear what these are as of writing. Moreover, it’s also uncertain in what capacity he will show up and whether it will be as Darth Vader or Anakin.

Anakin Skywalker is set to return in Ahsoka Season 2, which is now arriving in 2027. While the specifics of his appearance are largely unknown, he is expected to return as a Force ghost and continue guiding the titular character, his former apprentice.

Christensen himself expressed interest in continuing to explore the character beyond Ahsoka Season 2. While speaking at Fan Expo Boston last year, he revealed two points in the character’s history he wanted to tackle.

He first shared his interest in seeing more of Anakin during the Clone Wars era, which is chronicled in a dedicated animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and was touched upon in Ahsoka Season 1. “I think there are some fun stories there to tell,” he said (via CBR). “And if it meant I got to swing a lightsaber with Ewan [McGregor] again, that would be amazing,” he continued.

Moreover, the 45-year-old also conveyed his interest in exploring stories set during Anakin’s time as Darth Vader. “I think there’s some good, meaty stuff there to explore still,” he noted. “If the powers that be decided a Vader spin-off is something they want to see, I’d be there in a heartbeat. 100%.”

Currently multiple Star Wars films, including one centered around Daisy Ridley’s Rey are in development. However, its unclear if Christensen’s Anakin/Vader will factor into them.
