Drake Delivers Iceman & Two Surprise Albums in Massive Drop

Drake turned a highly anticipated album launch into a much bigger surprise Friday when he released not one project, but three at the same time. Fans expecting only Iceman instead woke up to a 43-track rollout that also included the other two, marking one of the biggest music drops of the year.

Drake releases Iceman and surprises fans with two more albums

Rumors about a multi-album release had already started circulating online on Thursday after DJ Hed posted on X that Iceman and Maid of Honour could arrive separately within an hour of each other. Instead, Drake confirmed all three albums together at the end of his “Iceman Episode 4” livestream. A message shown during the stream read, “All 3 albums dropping at midnight from the biggest sound (via Variety).”

The Toronto rapper later shared cover art for each project on Instagram before the albums officially went live. Together, the three releases include 43 songs and include appearances from Future, 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, Central Cee, Popcaan, PartyNextDoor, and several others. The road to Iceman stretched over nearly two years. Drake first hinted at the title back in 2024 when he referenced Val Kilmer’s Top Gun character online and later posted a screenshot showing a folder labeled 2.0 – Iceman.

During those broadcasts, he also rolled out new songs like “What Did I Miss?”, “Which One” featuring Central Cee, and “Dog House” featuring July Wolf alongside Yeat. The releases didn’t come quietly; they were drip-fed straight into the livestreams to keep fans interested. The rapper also went big on promotion outside the studio. In Toronto, he set up a creative stunt to unveil the album’s release date.

Massive ice blocks were placed around the city, each hiding a bag inside that contained the official date reveal. Later, streamer Kishka tracked down the hidden bag and brought it to Drake’s house, where everything was finally confirmed for a May 15 release.

Drake remains one of music’s most commercially successful artists. Across his career, he has collected Grammy Awards, broken streaming records, and delivered major hits including God’s Plan, Hotline Bling, One Dance, and In My Feelings.
