Scrubs Revival Season 2 Reveals Release Window & Airing Time for ABC Comedy Show

The Scrubs revival Season 2 release date is officially pinned to fall 2026. ABC’s schedule revealed the strategy to bring the series back quickly rather than waiting for midseason. The airing time for new episodes is every Wednesday at 8 PM ET, a classic family comedy slot (via Deadline).

The revival’s premiere got a massive 11.4 million viewers, translating to critical acclaim. Rotten Tomatoes shows an 89% Tomatometer score and a 93% popcornmeter rating. Ari Goldman, ABC’s SVP of Content Strategy and Scheduling, spoke on a similar line of the raw performance data driving the renewal. “We love the momentum on Scrubs,” Goldman said. “It was the No.1 new comedy on a multiplatform basis, it was the No.1 comedy in 18-49 on linear this season, so we want to really keep that show present and top of mind as we head into the fall.”

Moreover, Scrubs Season 11 will consist of 10 episodes. The original series, which aired from 2001 to 2010 across nine seasons, got 17 Emmy Award nominations and won two for technical achievements. Additionally, its main cast, Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, Neil Flynn, and John C. McGinley, remained intact throughout the original run, a rarity for long-running sitcoms.

Now, the revival brings Braff back as JD, who now works as Chief of Medicine at Sacred Heart Hospital, replacing Dr. Perry Cox. McGinley’s Dr. Cox is confirmed to have a more expanded role in Season 2. Executive producer Bill Lawrence, who led the original series, returns to the reboot.
