James Gunn’s Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow, will see the Last Son of Krypton joined by many familiar faces, and a new report reveals that a familiar Kryptonian character may have joined the cast.
Who has seemingly joined the Man of Tomorrow cast?
Milly Alcock, who is set to play Kara Zor-El in Supergirl, has been spotted on the set of Man of Tomorrow, which is currently in production. This seemingly confirms that Alcock’s Supergirl will appear in the movie, though DC Studios has not officially confirmed the casting. The Girl of Steel was first introduced in the DCU in the closing moments of Superman, where it was revealed that Krypto belonged to her, the superpowered canine.
Alcock was spotted on the set by paparazzi (via ComicBookMovie), so it’s possible she was just visiting the set because she’s involved in this shared DC universe. Supergirl appearing in Man of Tomorrow’s cast would make sense, considering how many heroes from DC’s other projects are returning in the movie.
This year’s Supergirl will follow Kara Zor-El and Krypto in an intergalactic adventure, with the film’s story based on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, a seminal miniseries written by Tom King and illustrated by Bilquis Evely. Supergirl will also introduce Jason Momoa as Lobo, an intergalactic bounty hunter who crosses paths with Supergirl.
The Man of Tomorrow cast also includes Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor, James Gunn’s favorite Superman character, and John Stewart’s Green Lantern, played by Aaron Pierre. The film has also added Daredevil’s Matthew Lillard, Adria Arjona, and Andre Royo in undisclosed roles. The upcoming DCU movie’s primary antagonist has been confirmed to be Brainiac, played by Lars Eidinger.
Man of Tomorrow will be released in theaters on July 9, 2027. Supergirl releases in theaters on June 26, 2026. DC Studios will also release Clayface this October.
