A new R-rated Netflix rom-com featuring Jennifer Lopez and a Ted Lasso actor will be available to stream on the platform next month. The film marks the third original title that the singer has produced in collaboration with the streaming giant.
Office Romance hits Netflix next month
Office Romance starts streaming on Netflix from Friday, June 5, 2026. The streamer premiered a trailer last month, showcasing quirky humor and an offbeat workplace dynamic.
The story centers on Jackie, an intimidating CEO of Air Cruz. When she meets Daniel, the company’s new lawyer, she softens, and the two secretly have an affair. However, it leads to serious complications in both their lives, putting their relationship and jobs at risk.
The film features Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein as Daniel and Jennifer Lopez as Jackie. They are joined by Betty Gilpin, Edward James Olmos, Bradley Whitford, Amy Sedaris, Tony Hale, and Rick Hoffman.
Interestingly, Lopez and Olmos are reuniting after nearly 30 years. They previously worked on the 1997 biopic, Selena. Just like in that film, the two will once again appear as father-daughter duo in Office Romance.
Ol Parker directed Office Romance, while Goldstein and Joe Kelly wrote the script. Furthermore, the Shrinking actor is co-producing the film alongside Kelly, Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina.
The “One the Floor” singer also serves as a producer, making the film through her production studio, Nuyorican Productions, Inc. Office Romance is part of the pop singer’s multi-year deal with Netflix. Since signing the deal in 2021, she has already produced two Netflix Originals: The Mother (2023) and Atlas (2024).
Talking about his experience working with the “Dance Again” singer, Goldstein said, “Every day I come to work to do a rom-com with Jennifer Lopez and this incredible cast, and I expect people to jump out and tell me I’m being pranked. Hasn’t happened yet, so maybe this is real? (via Tudum)”
