Fresh details around the next Spider-Man film, titled Brand New Day, are starting to paint a clearer picture. Early reports suggest the movie will lean heavily into grounded, street-level conflict, with multiple villains shaping the story.
Among them are two familiar comic-book names, both expected to play key roles in pushing Peter Parker into a tougher, more dangerous phase.
Besides Scorpion, one villain has a key role in Spider-Man 4
According to The Cosmic Circus, Tombstone is set to be a major force in Spider-Man 4, alongside Scorpion. When asked directly about the film’s core antagonist beyond Scorpion, insider Alex Perez, during a Q&A, answered, “Tombstone. Definitely Tombstone.” This points to a story that may focus more on organized crime and street-level threats rather than multiverse chaos.
Tombstone, also known as Lonnie Lincoln in Marvel Comics, is a crime boss with superhuman strength, near-invulnerable skin, and a cold, calculating mindset. He has often been portrayed as a ruthless figure controlling the underworld, frequently clashing with both Spider-Man and Daredevil. His inclusion suggests a darker tone, possibly tying into larger criminal networks hinted to be operating “from the shadows” in the film’s story.
On the other hand, Scorpion, originally Mac Gargan, is one of Spider-Man’s more physically dangerous enemies. Created through an experiment gone wrong, he gains enhanced strength, speed, and a deadly mechanical tail. The character has already appeared briefly in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, setting up his return as a more active threat. With both villains in play, Peter could be facing a mix of brute force and strategic crime warfare.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is also expected to connect with other Marvel projects. Elements from Daredevil: Born Again may tie into its narrative, hinting at a shared street-level storyline.
