Monica Rambeau will reportedly play a key role in Avengers: Doomsday, as suggested by a new rumor. Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus recently held a Q&A session, answering questions about the upcoming movie and its direct sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars. During this, a fan asked why numerous plot leaks have excluded Monica Rambeau, wondering if this was because the actress, Teyonah Parris, didn’t shoot any scenes, had a small role, or would be absent from the narrative.
Perez responded that Rambeau was in the film. He added that her storyline would pick up from where it left off in the MCU in the second act. The scooper further stated, “She’s the key to brokering peace between the X-Men and the Avengers.”
While unconfirmed, the insider’s comment about Rambeau’s role in facilitating an agreement between the Avengers and X-Men seemingly holds some weight, considering The Marvels’ ending. That film concluded with her trapped in an alternate universe where she not only met a different version of her mother, Maria, who operates as Binary, but also the X-Man, Hank McCoy/Beast, played by Kelsey Grammer, who will reprise his role in Doomsday.
Needless to say, Parris’s involvement in Doomsday hasn’t been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios. Accordingly, fans will have to wait until it releases to find out if the above report holds.
This rumor comes shortly after early reactions to Doomsday surfaced. Insiders have shared that they heard the movie has impressed those who have already seen it.
Avengers: Doomsday is currently slated for December 18, 2026. Notably, this date is shared by Dune: Part Three, because of which both films will compete at the box office. Meanwhile, Avengers: Secret Wars arrives a year later on December 17, 2027. The Russo Brothers are the directors of both movies.
