Odessa A’zion & All X-Men Reboot Actors Rumored So Far

The X-Men’s MCU arrival is still under wraps, but the casting rumor mill has no interest in staying quiet. Several Hollywood names have surfaced for iconic mutant roles, though Marvel Studios continues to keep its cards close.

Director Jake Schreier helms the reboot, with Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo writing the script, as the film reportedly targets a 2028 theatrical debut.

All four actors rumored to be eyed for X-Men reboot cast

Sydney Sweeney as Emma Frost

Insider @MyTimeToShineHello revealed that Marvel Studios is reportedly eyeing Sydney Sweeney for Emma Frost. The post gained over 2.2 million views on X within hours of going live. Sweeney, 28, fits the age range for a character Marvel could develop across multiple films. Emma Frost first appeared as a villain and the White Queen of the Hellfire Club before joining the X-Men.

Odessa A’zion as Rogue

Jeff Sneider reported on The Hot Mic podcast that Odessa A’zion is being eyed for Rogue. A’zion brings credits from the Hellraiser revival, Sitting in Bars with Cake, and Grand Army. Her profile aligns with Marvel’s reported focus on casting fresh, younger talent for the lineup. Kevin Feige has previously hinted at a next-generation direction for mutants in the MCU.

Peter Claffey as Beast

Sneider also named Peter Claffey as a contender for Beast during a conversation with John Rocha. Claffey currently plays Dunk in HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. “I heard that they’re looking at him for Beast,” Sneider said on the show. Reports indicate Claffey will return for Season 2 of the series, which is targeting a 2027 release.

Sadie Sink as Jean Grey

Sadie Sink is reportedly playing Jean Grey, with her first appearance expected in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Sneider confirmed the casting, stating, “It’s true. I hear that she is, in fact, playing Jean Grey.” Marvel Studios has not previously introduced Jean Grey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The X-Men reboot reportedly targets a 2028 theatrical debut under director Jake Schreier.
