Governor Gavin Newsom recently made a prediction regarding Donald Trump‘s Deputy Chief of Staff at White House and DHS advisor, Stephen Miller. The prediction comes after it was reported that Miller was seemingly overriding direct orders from the president. The claim was reportedly made by former and current DHS officials anonymously.
Gavin Newsom shares a message about White House staff
Gavin Newsom recently took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) account to make a prediction about Stephen Miller, who is currently Deputy Chief of Staff under Donald Trump’s administration. In the post, Newsom shared an article by the Daily Mail, which alleges that Miller, at times, holds more power than the president at the DHS as an advisor. He wrote, “START THE COUNTDOWN !!! Stephen Miller is going to be fired!” Apart from this, Newsom accompanied the post with an image of Harry Potter villain Voldemort.
The Daily Mail report asserted that many DHS officials have claimed that Miller, who is also a driving force behind Trump’s immigration program, appears to make decisions that cause chaos within the department.
Officials also alleged that Miller helped Trump appoint Markwayne Mullin as Homeland Security secretary, thereby removing former secretary Kristi Noem. Multiple officials also stated that in June, when Trump issued orders not to target farm workers during an immigration operation, Miller delivered different instructions.
One of them alleged, “Stephen got on the call the next day, and said ‘We’re discussing that internally’ and that we should just disregard what he said. It was like the President never said anything. It was just like Stephen was in charge.” They continued, “Stephen purports to speak with the authority of the President himself, and he makes that very clear on the calls, even if it means undermining what the President just said exactly.”
Another insider claimed that Miller appointed Mullin so that he could use him as his “puppet.” However, Miller has not made any comments regarding this.
