Sydney Sweeney‘s brother, Trent, has been deployed overseas alongside numerous United States soldiers as the country’s war with Iran continues. The actress recently took to Instagram to express her happiness at getting to keep in touch with her sibling. She also offered her love to other soldiers besides her brother, who were fighting for their nation.

Sweeney recently shared a screenshot of her FaceTime with her younger brother, Trent, which showed both smiling at each other, on Instagram stories. It was accompanied by a caption reflecting the Euphoria star’s love for her brother and the bond they share. She wrote, “Receiving calls from my bro always make me happy when he’s deployed.” She added, “Thinking of all our boys and girls overseas and sending my love! Thank you for your service :)” (via Page Six). It is unclear if Trent’s deployment has to do with the United States’ ongoing war against Iran.
Trent initially pursued an acting career like his sister through small roles and commercials. However, he shifted his pursuit, electing to carve a path within the U.S. Air Force by beginning his basic training in April 2020. Sweeney shared two photos from their childhood on Instagram to commemorate this. In the caption, she wished him luck, but also teased him by telling him to remember she was “tougher” than him when things got difficult.
He completed his training in August that year and reportedly joined the Munitions Squadron, confirming it with an Instagram picture of himself holding his certificate, captioned “AMMO!!!!” Five years later, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant.
When he is not on duty, Trent streams on Twitch under the username PeanutButterPaul, playing video games like Helldivers II. As suggested by his Instagram handle, Trent also enjoys cooking, traveling, music, and spending time with his dog and cat in his spare time.
Trent has typically avoided the spotlight. However, he has supported his sister’s acting career, congratulating her for getting a SAG Award nomination in 2019 for her role in The Handmaid’s Tale. He also drew attention last year for humorously addressing the controversy surrounding Sweeney’s American Eagle jeans advertisement.
