Emma Slater reveals if she’s leaving DWTS
Emma Slater, who joined Dancing with the Stars back in 2013 and has been a well-known part of the show ever since, recently addressed rumors about her exiting the series in the next season during her appearance on the SiriusXM podcast, The Three Questions with Andy Richter.
“I was like, ‘What rumor?’ They said, ‘Are you retiring this year?’ And I could see how a rumor like that would be starting, because they’re looking at me like, ‘She’s the old girl,'” Slater said on the podcast.
She went on to assert that she has had “the most incredible time” on DWTS and has no imminent plans to leave. She said that she wants to “go through it as long as I can go for.”
“I would like it to be on my decision, I think,” she continued, “But I’ve decided that I’m going to expect to be there, and if and when they say I’m not invited anymore, I’ll conquer that when it happens.”
She further noted that if she was not asked to come back, she would still want to be involved with DWTS in a different role, perhaps as a producer. “As soon as I feel like I’m going to be choked out, I’ll pull the ageism thing. ‘This is what Hollywood does to women as they age!'” she added.
Throughout her time on the show, Slater won the competition in 2024 when she was paired with Rashad Jennings. She has also been paired with stars like James Van Der Beek, Drew Scott, Charles Oakley, and Trevor Donovan, among others.
